Linzi graduated with a BA (Hons) from Trinity College Dublin in 1984, specialising in the archaeology of medieval Ireland. Linzi has a special interest in medieval Dublin but has widened her interest to include the built heritage of post-medieval Dublin and has carried out numerous building surveys, evaluations and large-scale complex excavations in Dublin.

She has been employed with Margaret Gowen & Co. since 1994 and is as senior project manager and buildings specialist, with considerable excavation experience of Viking and medieval period sites in central Dublin.

Linzi has published extensively but has a particular interest in Viking and medieval Dublin.
